Stomach upsets can be a food poisoning if abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting come with it. It also can be caused by an excess of rich food or too much alcohol leading to gastritis. Sometime stomach upsets are associated with chills so warming herbs can be useful to decrease the complaint.
Make a warming tea:
- 1 slice fresh ginger root
- 1 teaspoon lemon balm
- Simmer the ginger in 1.5 cups of water for 20 minutes and then pour the liquid over the lemon balm and infuse for a further 10 minutes. Strain and drink up.
In some cases stomach upsets, the problem can be stress-related with any increase in nervous tension or anxiety levels leading to stomach discomfort. That’s why relaxing herb such as lemon balm and chamomile teas can reduce the discomfort.
